RCPS College Camps & Showcases

Over 3 hours of hands-on instruction from College Coaches, a player meet and greet with the college coaches. You get to choose 2 of the following defensive sessions with hitting included. (Basics for each session, but College Coaches can change instruction at their discretion) 

College Coach "Camp" Date/Location: Friday, May 31, 2024, Frisco, Texas.

College Coach Showcase "Games" Date/Location: Saturday, June 1, 2024, Frisco, Texas.  

Pitching: Velo Metrics (FB & OS), proper mechanics, mental approach, setting up batters, and more. (Pitchers must provide their catcher who still needs to participate in the camp.) 

Catching: Velo Metrics (C to 2B), blocking, framing, proper throw-down mechanics, throwdowns to 2B, directing the defense, setting batters up, tags at the plate, and more.

Middle Infield: Velo Metrics (SS to 1B), proper fielding mechanics, double play receiving footwork, double play feeds, throwing on the run, and more. 

Corner Infield: Velo Metrics (3B to 1B), proper fielding mechanics, slow rollers, throwing on the run, footwork on the bases, bunts, and more. 

Outfield: Velo Metrics (RF to C), drop step, angles, reading fly balls, reading ground balls, throwing to a cut-off, throwing through a cut-off, fence, and sideline awareness, and more. 

Hitting: THIS IS AUTOMATICALLY YOUR 3RD SESSION. Velo Metrics (Tee & Live), mental approach in the box, on-deck approach, knowing what type of hitter you are, hitting to all fields, swinging mechanics, increasing power, and more. 

Age Groups: Open to grad years 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 prospects looking to make connections and get seen by College Coaches. It’s best to get in front of College Coaches during their Freshman year to build a trackable relationship with colleges they might attend. It’s better to start early than late!

* This event is run entirely by college coaches! Attendance of college coaches "WORKING" the event is based on the number of players that register for the camp. Not all college coaches listed are guaranteed to work the camp. However, they may still be in attendance and present throughout the event. 

 8:00 am - 8:45 am College Coach Meet and Greet.

Players can interact and connect with college coaches before the instruction sessions. 

9:00 am - 10:00 am
Infielders
• College Middle In-Field Skill Set (what college coaches look for in players).
• Live infield in front of college coaches 

Outfielders
• College-level outfield footwork for throwing, drop steps, and angles of pursuit.
• Live throws to bases in front of college coaches 

11:30 am to 12:00

Hitting
• Tee Hitting to all fields and Velo Metrics. 

• Live batting practice "Soft Toss".

Pitchers are taken through the following rotations:
•  Bullpen, Mechanics, PFP’s, Conditioning

Catchers taken through the following rotations:
• Bullpen, Block/Receive/Throw, Hitting Fundamentals (tee/side toss/front toss) Live Batting Practice
• Catchers will also make 5-6 throws each for ‘Pop Times’ on the main floor.  Times posted online
